Call for Girl Scout Memorabilia and Collectables

ALBANY, NY (01/03/2013)(readMedia)-- Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY) is inviting the community to share Girl Scout insignia, ephemera or items of interest from the Girl Scout movement with Alumnae, friends, family and fans of Girl Scouting at ToGetHerThere, an exhibition of items from the Council archives and the general public that span the 100 year history of the leading organization for the leadership development of girls. The exhibit will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 10am-2pm at The Desmond Hotel & Conference Center in Albany and is free and open to the public. Memorabilia items - preferably items from 1912 to 1945 - can be dropped off by February 15, 2013 at one of the (4) Girl Scout council offices: Albany - 8 Mountain View Avenue, Halfmoon - 23 Executive Park Drive, Queensbury - 213 Meadowbrook Road, or Plattsburgh - 107 Hammond Lane. Please include name and phone number/email address with the materials along with any added details about them that may be of interest. If preferred, arrangements can be made for item sharing by contacting Maegan Frantz, Girl Scout Alumnae Relations Coordinator, at 518-348-1413 x 402 or via email at mfrantz@gsneny.org. All items can be returned after the event or can be donated to the GSNENY archives.

This complimentary drop-in exhibit will culminate the local celebrations honoring the 100th Anniversary year of Girl Scouting while propelling the work of the organization into the next century.
