Capital Region Marketers to Discuss the Perfect Pitch – How Sports Marketers Put Fans in Seats
ALBANY, NY (07/07/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York Capital Region Chapter of the American Marketing Association is pleased to present speakers John D'Argenio, Director of Athletics at Siena College; and Vic Christopher, Assistant GM of the ValleyCats Minor League Baseball team. D'Argenio and Christopher will lead a breakfast roundtable program titled "The Perfect Pitch: How Sports Marketers Put Fans in Seats - and What We Can Learn from Them," on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at The Desmond on Albany Shaker Rd. in Albany.
The presenters for this informative session will discuss the obstacles they face, the ways they achieve success and how these methods can be incorporated into a marketing plan.
John D'Argenio has served as Director of Athletics at Siena College for more than 15 years. He was a key player in negotiating Siena's agreement to move home basketball games to the downtown facility-a move that has placed attendance for both the men's and women's programs in the top 80 nationwide. Succeeding where many others have failed, the college's growing corporate partnership program now includes more than 45 businesses, local and national.
Vic Christopher is entering his fifth season as Assistant GM of the ValleyCats Minor League Baseball team. Under his watchful eye, attendance at "The Joe" has grown by leaps and bounds, and his new promotional schedule will complement several off-season stadium projects to enhance the ValleyCats experience. Before joining the team, Christopher served in several capacities with the New York Mets and the New York-Penn League's Brooklyn Cyclones.
Admission is $15 for members and students, $20 for non-members. Payment is expected in cash or check at the door. Coffee and baked goods provided. Reserve your place online at www.nymarketing.org . Space is limited.
