LOS LUNAS, NM (04/19/2011)(readMedia)-- UNM-Valencia student Carolyn Garringer was recently awarded the Casados Clark Memorial Scholarship. Garringer was honored at a reception held in the UNM-Valencia Fine Arts Gallery.

Virginia Casados Clark was a local artist who encouraged others to discover their artistic talents at the Tomé Art Gallery. Every year the gallery holds a Souper Bowl party on Super Bowl Sunday for those who do not want to watch the big game. Proceeds from the event fund a scholarship and the recipients are UNM-Valencia students pursuing the arts.

Garringer is pursuing an associate's degree in digital media arts. She is a dog trainer in her spare time, and she is in the UNM-Valencia TRiO Program.
