Champlain College Filmmakers Get Spotlight on Vermont PBS 'Student Showcase' on Oct. 9

BURLINGTON, VT (10/05/2017) The Division of Communication and Creative Media at Champlain College and Vermont PBS have partnered to present a one-hour broadcast premiere of Champlain College Student Showcase to air on Vermont PBS at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 9.

The program, which is a collection of six student-produced works by nine Broadcast Media Production and Filmmaking majors, will be part of Vermont PBS' Made Here segment which "defines a broad range of content from local filmmakers, allowing Vermont PBS to share a wider range of local stories as seen through many different eyes."

This is the second installment of student work to appear on the statewide public television station. Student pieces explore various issues important to Vermonters. From a behind-the-scenes look at the Humane Society of Chittenden County to following a young man with Down Syndrome who is an advocate for people with disabilities, this installment reveals the courageous work of Vermonters told through the eyes of Champlain College students.

Coordinators of the Student Showcase are Senior Manager of Local Content-Vermont PBS Eric Ford and Associate Professor Van Dora Williams, program director of Broadcast Media Production, Filmmaking and Sonic Arts at Champlain College.
