BURLINGTON, VT (06/12/2018) Champlain College welcomed two new members to the Champlain College Board of Trustees at its June 8 meeting.
Stacey Rainey of Weybridge, Vt., is a partner at Community Barn Ventures in Middlebury, Vt. Community Barn Ventures was established in Fall 2017 to help entrepreneurs and growing businesses succeed. Committed to supporting community development and engagement, Rainey works with a variety of clients and organizations, providing multiple services and resources.
Before founding Community Barn Ventures, Rainey was Chief Operating Officer at Middlebury Interactive Languages, an online provider of World Language courses for grades K-12. Prior to her work there, she managed national investments for Microsoft Corporation education programs, and at The Parthenon Group, driving strategy engagements for a variety of client sectors.
She previously served on the board of The University of Massachusetts, chairing the Governance Committee and the UMass Boston Chancellor Search Committee. Locally, Rainey has served on The Bridge School board and currently serves on the Middlebury Underground board. She earned her BA from Union College and her MBA from Boston College. Rainey lives with her husband, Cort Boulanger, and children Callan, Tilly, and Mac.
Steve L. Gibbs of Shelburne, Vt., is a finance and accounting professional who most recently served as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of Keurig Green Mountain. In this role, he provided strategic leadership for accounting operations including financial reporting, accounting, tax, financial systems, policies, and controls.
Prior to joining Keurig, he held similar positions at public companies including Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller of Scientific Games Corporation where he was responsible for all aspects of accounting and reporting for domestic and international operations. Gibbs was also Manager of Accounting Research at The Coca-Cola Company.
He is a Certified Public Accountant who began his career with Arthur Andersen LLP and Deloitte & Touche LLP after receiving his B.S. in Accounting from Florida A&M University. Gibbs is an adjunct faculty member in the Champlain College Stiller School of Business, teaching in the Accounting program. He also serves as Treasurer of the Bighorn Basin Paleontological Institute, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to paleontology and earth science research, education, and outreach.
