Chesachi Chisomaga Emeh of Lagos, Nigeria, was recognized with multiple awards during Hartwick College's Honors Convocation on May 3.
Emeh received the H. Claude Hardy Award in Sociology. The award is named for the late Professor Emeritus H. Claude Hardy and honors outstanding seniors in sociology.
Emeh was also recognized with the Duncan B. Smith Award for Exceptional Creativity in Theatre. The award is presented to a student who has produced exceptionally creative work for a theatre class or production. Recipients are selected by the theatre arts faculty and receive a seminal text in the subject.
An Abraham L. Kellogg Oratorical Prize finalist, Emeh delivered his speech, "The Power of Name," during convocation. The Kellogg Prize is awarded to a graduating senior who delivers the best oratorical presentation as voted by the Hartwick faculty. He was named winner of the prize during the College's commencement ceremony on May 20.
