Children & Families of Iowa Opens Marshalltown Office

Grand Opening Celebration, Ribbon Cutting Scheduled

DES MOINES, IA (09/24/2010)(readMedia)-- Children & Families of Iowa will be celebrating the grand opening of its newest location at 811 E. Main St., Thursday, September 30, 2010, from noon to 2 p.m.

The 122-year-old, nonprofit human services organization will be holding a picnic lunch and a ribbon-cutting ceremony sponsored by the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce. Lunch is free and is open to other human services providers, the medical and legal communities and educators.

Children & Families of Iowa Regional Supervisor Pat Cirks says that she wants to make other organizations aware of Children & Families of Iowa's presence in the community, to collaborate with other human services providers and to inform the medical and legal communities and educators about how Children & Families of Iowa can assist them in helping area children and their families.

"Children & Families of Iowa is a light to thousands of Iowans in their darkest moments," says Cirks. "We help individuals make healthy choices for themselves and their families. We help find safe homes for children and strengthen families so they can stay together."

Last year CFI served more than 21,000 individuals throughout all of Iowa's 99 counties.
