Children & Families of Iowa's Kidsfest is This Weekend

Event offers families a low-cost, fun way to get out of the house

DES MOINES, IA (03/01/2010)(readMedia)-- Escape the cold this weekend and enjoy a fun-filled family weekend at Children & Families of Iowa's Kidsfest.

Kidsfest, sponsored by Veridian Credit Union, is March 5-7 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Varied Industries Building. Tickets are just $7 per person and available at the door all weekend. Families can still find $2 off coupons at Fareway stores and Veridian Credit Union locations. You can also win family four-packs by listening to Lazer 103.3, KIOA 93.3, Lite 104.1 and Star 102.5.

This year's event has many exciting activities for kids; including Kidsfest Klues Scavenger Hunt – with the chance to win a $500 gift certificate to Jordan Creek Town Center, inflatables, gamers' area, pedal tractor pull, fingerprint photo ID booth, and many more. Special guests include: Diego, Veggie Tales, Spiderman, Batgirl, Star Wars characters, and live princesses! The first 100 people Sunday morning will receive tickets for an exclusive meet and greet with Diego! Kids can also enter to win lots of great prizes.

Families can also donate new, unwrapped children's underwear and socks and be entered for the $500 gift certificate for Jordan Creek Town Center.
