Clay Custer of Greer, SC Receives Honorary Doctorate from Clearwater Christian College
Chairman of the Board Receives Honorary Doctorate
CLEARWATER, FL (05/07/2012)(readMedia)-- On Saturday, May 5, board member Lt. Colonel George T. Youstra presented Clay Custer, Esq. with a degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D.), Honoris Causa, during the 44th Commencement Ceremony of Clearwater Christian College. Mr. Custer has faithfully served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for ten years.
Having received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pre-Law, Mr. Custer went on to Wake Forest University's School of Law, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also served as editor of the Wake Forest Law Review, won the Stanley Cup Moot Court Competition, clerked for Chief Judge James C. Turk of the Western District Federal Court of Virginia, and joined the Womble-Carlyle Law Firm of Winston-Salem, NC. Today, he serves as a partner of the same firm in Greenville, SC.
Clay and Becky Custer have three children, Andrew, Sarah, and Nick. The Custers are active in their home church, Suber Road Baptist Church, in Greer, SC, and faithful to CCC. Their daughter Sarah is a 2008 graduate; their son Andrew is a senior business administration major. The Custers live in Greenville, SC.
During the presentation speech at commencement, Lt. Colonel Youstra said, "Today, we honor a man who has demonstrated resolve on the principles of the rock of God's Word. He has provided the board of this college, where he has served as chairman, with wisdom, integrity, and commitment. We salute his grace, his wit, and his strength."
