ALBANY, NY (03/27/2025) (readMedia)-- Today, voting rights organizations, leading unions, and Let NY Vote coalition members sent a letter to Governor Hochul, Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins, Assembly Speaker Heastie and Chairs of the Elections Committees urging them to stand up against President Trump's unconstitutional executive order meant to dismantle our voting rights.

The Executive Order, "falsely claims that non-citizens are voting in federal elections and directs states to take sweeping and unnecessary measures that threaten the rights of eligible voters and the integrity of our democracy."

The groups urged Albany leaders to resist the Trump administration Executive Order by supporting pro-voter policies that expand ballot access, joining litigation to challenge the Executive Order, and expanding support for county Boards of Elections.
