NY Election Officials, Voting Rights Groups To Hold Virtual Briefing On Midterm Elections
Nearly six million NYers successfully cast their ballots early, by mail and on Election Day - the vast majority of them without issue; NYCBOE, voting rights groups will highlight what to expect in coming weeks as election officials count and certify the votes
ALBANY, NY (11/05/2026) (readMedia)-- TODAY, election officials with the NYC Board of Elections and voting rights experts with Common Cause New York, the League of Women Voters NYS, the NAACP New York State Conference, and Hands Off NYC will hold a virtual press briefing to discuss what happened in New York's Midterm elections and what to expect in the coming weeks as election administrators certify the results.
Nearly six million New Yorkers voted during this year's Midterm elections, including nearly 2 million voters who cast their ballots early in person and by mail without any significant issues. Thanks in part to significant voting reforms that Common Cause New York and the Let NY Vote coalition fought to achieve, voters across the state ignored the noise and disinformation and made their voices heard.
Speakers will discuss what they saw across the state, how New Yorkers rejected misinformation and headed to the polls, and explain how election officials will now carry out New York's extensive election law to check and certify all results.
