ALBANY, NY (04/16/2013)(readMedia)-- The City of Albany and the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) announce the 2nd Annual Downtown Albany Blues Music Contest participants to be hosted in ten downtown Albany venues Friday, May 3, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The public is invited to come out for this free event and vote for their favorite acts of the evening.
"Entertainment is key to the vibrant culture of Albany's Downtown," said Mayor Gerald D. Jennings, "I am happy that the Downtown Albany Blues Music Contest is back for a second round as the BID continues to draw the Capital Region and beyond to the heart of our great City. First and second placed bands will perform at the City of Albany's Alive @ 5 music series. The date and time for the Alive @ 5 performance is to be announced. The first placed act will additionally perform at the BID's Downtown Albany Fall Car Show on October 12, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
