ST. PAUL, MINN. (09/01/2009)(readMedia)-- Concordia University, St. Paul will host the Biannual Handbell Workshop for new and experienced directors on Friday, Sept. 25, from 6:30 - 9 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Workshop topics include: handbell equipment, recruiting and integrating new ringers, teaching handbell techniques, score study, running an efficient rehearsal, working with children and youth, choosing repertoire, handbell assignments, conducting specific to handbells, how to teach rhythm, and teaching tracking.
Where: Concordia University, St. Paul, Buetow Music Center, 300 Hamline Ave., St. Paul, MN 55104
When/Time: Friday, Sept. 25 from 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Cost: $275 to receive undergraduate credit and $150 for non-credit
