Crisis at OPWDD: PEF to rally for proper staffing

ALBANY, NY (09/13/2021) (readMedia)-- The New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF) will hold a rally Tuesday at West Capitol Park to highlight chronic understaffing at the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). The rally is in advance of a NYS Senate Standing Committee on Disabilities hearing focused on the impact of the state workforce crisis on people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

WHO:

PEF Vice President Randi DiAntonio and Sen. John Mannion will attend.

WHAT:

PEF will rally for increased staffing at OPWDD to ensure proper patient care and ease the waitlist for residential treatment placements.
