Local Soldiers home for the holidays after ten months in GTMO

WASHINGTON, DC (12/16/2013)(readMedia)-- Approximately 50 soldiers of the D.C. Army National Guard's 372nd Military Police Battalion will be returning home from a 10-month deployment to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Tuesday, Dec. 17th, at 2:30pm at the D.C. National Guard Armory.

They will be met by their families, friends and fellow National Guardsmen.

WHAT:

Approximately 50 soldiers of the D.C. Army National Guard's 372nd Military Police Battalion will be returning home from a 10-month deployment to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 2:30 pm at the D.C. National Guard Armory.

They will be met by their families, friends and fellow National Guardsmen.

The 273rd provided military police assets in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in a headquarters element mission.

Many of the service members have deployed at least once previously. The soldiers endured a separation from friends and family. They will be home to their families this week, with a recognition ceremony scheduled for Friday, Dec. 20th.

The 372nd Military Police Battalion is arriving in small groups. The main group of approximately 25 personnel is slated to arrive at 2:30pm.
