D.C. National Guard hosts career day
Open to the public and free of charge
WASHINGTON, DC (06/09/2017) (readMedia)-- WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 9, 2017) –The District of Columbia National Guard will host a "Career Day" at the D.C. National Guard Armory today.
The purpose of the career day is to provide the public a glimpse at some of the career fields associated with the D.C. Army and Air National Guard along with some of the equipment they use.
The event is open to the public and is free of charge.
Soldiers and Airmen will provide information on their respective Military Occupational Specialties or Air Force Specialty Codes while meeting the community members they serve.
Since 1802, the D.C. National Guard has been responsible for defending the Capital and fulfilling its role, in the total force, to protect the nation. Its ranks consists of citizen Soldiers and Airmen who live and work in the National Capital Region.
The D.C. National Guard is always looking for new members who are looking to serve-or continue their service-in a National Guard unit that has one of the most diverse missions in the entire military.
In addition to the invaluable and unique career, a new member could qualify for $50,000 student loan repayment, education benefits, $10,000 enlistment bonus and much more.
