The theme of this year's car show is "Honoring Our Women Veterans." The show highlights vehicular Americana and the talents of hot rodding, restoration and craftsmanship. A variety of vehicles including classic, custom, street rods, muscle cars and motorcycles will be on-hand for public viewing. The annual car show and exhibits will be open from 2 - 9 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $10. Children under the age of 12 are free. Tickets will be available for purchase in advance or at the door. The event proceeds will go towards various morale and welfare initiatives as well as recreation programs designed to meet the needs of National Guard members, veterans, their families and the community. In support of this year's theme, the Veterans Administration (VA) will also be a guest collaborator to help highlight women veterans and their service. Women are the fastest growing population of veterans and now represent over 13 percent of the OEF/OIF/OND veterans. Although the theme is honoring our women veterans, the VA will provide resources and information that will assist all veterans. The car show is hosted by the DC Militia MWR in collaboration with the Unity Thunder Car Club. The Unity Thunder Car Club has a storied history of supporting charitable organizations and community improvement projects to include Stuff a Truck with News Fox 5 and the annual WHUR Coat Drive.
