DES MOINES, IA (07/20/2018) (readMedia)-- Des Moines, IA- The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation and Cookies Food Products are pleased to present Deb Kosters of Sibley as an Iowan of the Day for the 2018 Iowa State Fair.

Always the first one to help out, Deb continually volunteers to make a difference in her community. Deb organizes semi-monthly meetings for young moms, opening her home before Christmas, serving tea and decorating cookies. This is a support system and a safe place for moms to come together in the community with any concerns that they may have.

Deb also delivers homemade meals for families and shut-ins whenever the need arises. She is committed to the high school band, vocal music and speech- always stepping in to ensure that students have the opportunity to do their best. Deb has also been an active 4-H leader and State Project Superintendent. "She dedicates her time selflessly to the youth," says Ashley Peters, county youth program coordinator.

Deb's day of recognition will be on Monday, August 13 at the 2018 Iowa State Fair. She will be recognized with a presentation on the Anne & Bill Riley stage at 2:00 p.m. Along with accommodations at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown, she will receive a gift bag, Grandstand tickets and use of the Iowan of the Day golf cart.

Founded in 1997, the Iowan of the Day program allows the Blue Ribbon Foundation to recognize Iowa's most outstanding individuals. The program continues to honor Iowans across the state who have made a difference in the lives of others, while upholding the characteristics associated with Iowa- dependability, integrity, hard work and sense of community.

The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
