Dental Health is Focus of Creative Contest for Kids in New York State
ALBANY, NY (01/22/2008)(readMedia)-- “Keeping Smiles Brighter” is the theme of a popular annual statewide contest for children to be sponsored by the New York State Dental Association (NYSDA) during National Children’s Dental Health Month in February.
The contest is open to children in preschool through 12th grade in New York state and participants are being asked to design a placemat that shares a message about good dental care. A new category has been added in 2008 for older children in grades 7-12. Their challenge is to design a web site home page offering oral health information or a dental health message. Entries are due March 3, 2008.
Educators, parents and children can obtain contest rules, dental health resources and details about Children’s Dental Health Month events at www.nysdental.org or by calling NYSDA at 518-465-0044.
The New York State Dental Association, celebrating 140 years in 2008, is one of the largest state constituents of the American Dental Association and represents more than 13,000 of the state's practicing dentists. In the last decade, NYSDA has received more than a dozen national awards for its Children's Dental Health Month programs.
