Des Moines Education Association and other community organizations host a townhall stye Community Conversation

Members of the community will gather to discuss mutual goals for success in DMPS schools

DES MOINES, IA (09/08/2015)(readMedia)-- The Des Moines Education Association and community stakeholders are hosting a Community Conversation inviting the public to discuss how to help all students succeed.

WHAT:

There are more than 100 different languages spoken in the households that make up Des Moines Public Schools and more than 60 percent of the student enrollment qualifies for free and reduced lunch. The student population is both ethnically and economically diverse so a more inclusive conversation about community involvement with ideas from all stakeholders is important. The Des Moines Education Association and community stakeholders have come together in hosting an event which seeks public input and community sharing for successful ideas and solutions in how to further enhance student success.

NOTES:

The event will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Free dinner will be served with shuttle busses available from 3:00-3:45 PM at North High, Moulton Elementary, East High and Edmunds Academy.
