District of Columbia National Guard officially honors returning service members

WASHINGTON, DC (05/19/2016)(readMedia)-- The District of Columbia National Guard will host a Freedom Salute ceremony to honor returning DC National Guard Soldiers at the DC National Guard Armory May 20 at 10:00 am.

28 Members of the DC National Guards's 276th Military Police Company, who returned home March 3, 2016, will be officially honored during this ceremony for their 10-month deployment to Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom Kuwait. The ceremony is one of the events associated with the DC National Guard's re-deployment program that both recognizes and reintegrates soldiers after overseas deployments.

During the ceremony, soldiers will be recognized for their acheivements while deployed and presented with certificates and tokens of appreciation commensurate with their total months deployed.
