Documentary Filmed at High Peaks Resort Receives NYS Broadcasters Association Award

"Mountain Lake PBS Celebrates Lake Placid & The Winter Games," sponsored by High Peaks Resort, receives prestigious award

LAKE PLACID, NY (06/13/2014)(readMedia)-- High Peaks Resort in Lake Placid today announced the documentary special "Mountain Lake PBS Celebrates Lake Placid & The Winter Games" has been awarded a New York State Broadcasters Association Award. The special premiered on February 6, 2014 and was sponsored by the High Peaks Resort and produced by Mountain Lakes PBS.

The documentary filmed at High Peaks Resort's, featured interviews with many prominent local citizens and athletes talking about the incredible history surrounding Lake Placid and the Winter Games. Part of the special featured High Peak Resort's Memories & Memorabilia event on January 17, 2014, a gathering of close to 1,000 local residents, visitors and Winter Games aficionados. That event brought together memories and stories from the 1980 Winter Games in Lake Placid, uncovering a treasure trove of unique tales of unlikely winners and hard-won victories.

Interviewees for the documentary included NYS Senator Betty Little, Former Olympic Committee Member Jack LaDuke, and Town Supervisor Roby Politi.
