ALBANY, NY (12/06/2012)(readMedia)-- Albany, NY...Greetings holiday earthlings. I am Erastus, one of many Jingle Elves that have invaded downtown Albany today. My friends and I are hiding in over 40 business locations and we dare you to come find us. And while we plan to be here for one week, Wednesday, December 5, 2012 through Wednesday, December 12, 2012, Elf Questers be warned, this is no simple task.

All Jingle Elves are hidden in participating businesses located within the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID). Participating businesses are identifiable by a distinct Jingle Elf Quest poster hanging in the storefront and are listed on the BID's website. Jingle Elf Questers are encouraged to find different elves, take a photo of themselves with the elf and post the photo to the Downtown Albany, NY Facebook page or Instagram the photo, tagging it with #jingleelf. Questers can also email photos to the BID at info@downtownalbany.org.

The Downtown Albany BID is offering prizes for our capture. There will be a random daily drawing for prizes such as: $50 gift certificates to Downtown Albany BID businesses (of the Quester's choice) and downtown Albany event tickets. The BID will also be awarding daily prizes for the best group photo and the most creative photo.

Think you can outsmart us? Then go for the Grand Prize. The Jingle Elf Quester that finds the most elves during this event will win a $500 gift certificate to a business of their choice. The selected business must be located in the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID).

I, Erastus, have created an additional challenge for you and will be moving from spot to spot this year. You will be given seven different opportunities to find me for a total of seven additional entries into the contest. Participants are encouraged to visit www.downtownalbany.org for clues to find me as I hide in different locations each day. Locations are different than the businesses listed on the BID's event page. Clues will be posted on the BID's website by 9:00 AM each morning.
