ALBANY, NY (12/09/2011)(readMedia)-- The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to launch the commencement of the first ever "Jingle. Elf. Quest." slated to begin Monday, December 12th and run through Saturday, December 24th, 2011. This free holiday event calls on "elf seekers" to search the Downtown Albany BID District for elves. Hidden in plain sight inside 40 BID businesses and organizations, each elf found is a chance to win prizes. Participating businesses are identifiable by an elf sign hanging in their storefront.
Participants enter the contest by uploading a photo of themselves with the elf to the Downtown Albany, NY Facebook page. They can also submit findings by e-mailing photos to the BID or filling out a paper entry at the location where the elf is found.
A drawing for prizes will be conducted each day with additional daily awards for submitted photos in the following categories: most original, funniest and best team or group. Recipients will be awarded $50 to $100 in gift certificates to Downtown Albany BID businesses of their choice, event tickets or award-winning designed Albany T-shirts. A grand prize of $500 in gift certificates to Downtown Albany BID businesses of their choice will be awarded to the first "elf seeker" to submit elf findings at 30 different locations.
"We're excited for the Jingle. Elf. Quest. to generate fun Downtown," states Georgette Steffens, Executive Director, Downtown Albany BID, "Elf-seekers will uncover Albany's great retail services and restaurants."
