ALBANY, NY (03/18/2009)(readMedia)-- The City of Albany, the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District and the Albany Local Development Corporation (ALDC ) have collaborated to host a Downtown Albany Development Forum presenting detailed information on available resources for rehabilitating vacant or under-utilized mixed-use projects in downtown Albany within the BID boundaries of Madison Avenue, Eagle Street, Clinton Avenue and Broadway. The goal of the Forum is to connect people with resources and development opportunities that will result in the rehabilitation of underutilized properties and bring increased vibrancy to Downtown Albany. Speakers include: Mayor Jerry Jennings, Pamela Tobin (Executive Director, Downtown Albany BID), Michael Yevoli (President, ALDC), Joseph Rabito (Deputy Commissioner, NYS Division of Housing & Community Renewal), Linda Hill (Principal Economic Developer, National Grid), Daniel Mackay (Public Policy Director, NYS Preservation), Steven Weiss (Managing Partner, Cannon Heyman & Weiss, LLP), and Megan Daly (Deputy Commissioner, ALDC). Developers, investors, individuals with entrepreneurial spirit, property owners, and lending institutions are all invited to attend. The presenting sponsor is Berkshire Bank.
NOTE: Seven properties will be open for site visits after the meeting concludes for those interested in exploring these opportunities.
