EBA/NYS Announces Conference: Growing Biofuels in NYS

A First in a Series of Conferences May 29th, 2008, Saratoga New York

ALBANY, NY (04/21/2008)(readMedia)-- The Environmental Business Association of NYS (EBA/NYS) (www.eba-nys.org) announced the first in a series of conferences aimed at addressing the many issues and concerns surrounding the development of biofuels in New York State.

“The purpose of the conference “Growing Biofuels in New York State” is to open organized dialog between biofuels manufacturers and distributors and New York’s agricultural community. We will focus on developing a list of policy priorities and achievable action items for the ensuing year”, said Suzanne Maloney, Executive Director of EBA/NYS. “The priority list will dictate the focus of subsequent programs. We believe this approach is the best way for the EBA/NYS to support the recommendation for a “Renewable Fuels Road Map” as laid out by the Governor’s Renewable Energy Task Force”, Maloney added.

Rick Zimmerman, Chairman of the EBA’s Biofuels Industry Committee remarked, “This gathering of renewable fuels stakeholders can be a critical opportunity for developing a more coordinated, comprehensive approach to addressing the demand for renewable fuels within the Northeast. Each stakeholder, including farmers, must understand the challenges throughout the production and distribution chain and work together collaboratively to maximize the opportunities available from this growing industry.”
