SPRINGFIELD, IL (08/23/2017) (readMedia)-- Staff Sgt. Levi Kammes of East Lansing, Michigan, a field artillery automated tactical data systems specialist with Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 122nd Field Artillery based in Sycamore, Illinois, was named individual rifle champion during the 2017 Illinois Army National Guard's Adjutant General Match at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, Aug. 20.

Kammes competed against more than 75 of the Illinois Army National Guard's top marksmen to earn the honor.

The Adjutant General Match is a week-long competition, which allows servicemembers from the Illinois Army National Guard to compete for the honor of the state's top marksman. The competition tests proficiency and marksmanship with a variety of weapons including the M9 pistol, M4 Carbine Rifle and M500 shotgun.
