BOURBONNAIS, IL (10/29/2010)(readMedia)-- Annie Weaver from Peoria, Ill., became the 56th Homecoming Queen for Olivet Nazarene University during the coronation ceremony on October 27, 2010. Chosen by her peers for this honor, Annie is a leader among the student body.
While at Olivet, Annie has served as a co-leader for Mission Possible, vice president of Kappa Delta Pi, and a Bible study leader for high school girls. She has also been part of Sister 2 Sister, Residential Life, intramural sports, and Prayer Warriors programs. Her future plans include teaching and pursuing her master's degree in counseling.
Other members of the 2010 Homecoming Court are: Abigail Bentle from Jackson, Mich. (escorted by Wes Siscoe); Libby Devine from Elgin, Ill. (escorted by Jerry Scheller); Katherine Krause from Waupaca, Wisc. (escorted by Matthew Kee); Abby Pleasant from St. Charles, Ill. (escorted by Wesley Sprague); and Kevin Greene, Annie Weaver's escort.
Mr. and Mrs. Matt McAllister served as Masters of Ceremony for the coronation. Special music was provided by Kate Burkey (piano), Lauren Hoenig and Jennifer Legg (violin), Tianna Frey (viola), Tyson Dodd (guitar), and Laura Fleschner (vocals).
Olivet's Homecoming Queen and members of her Court have been honored each year since 1955. The Queen is a senior woman chosen by the student body. She is person of integrity; giving glory to God in her life; helping others feel loved and accepted; and expressing Olivet's academic, social, and spiritual ideals.
