CLEARWATER, FL (05/29/2012)(readMedia)-- Senior Emma Kile was inducted in the Clearwater Christian College Athletic Hall of Fame during a presentation in chapel on Tuesday, April 25, 2012. Kile entered CCC as a freshman in the fall of 2008 and immediately became an impact player for the volleyball team. During her time at CCC, the Cougars compiled a total team win-loss record of 176 and 24 and added four NCCAA D2 National Volleyball Championships. Emma has won numerous regional and national awards including South Region MVP for the past two years, four-time NCCAA First Team All-American, four-time National All-Tournament Team, and NCCAA Outstanding Player of the Year for the last two years. In addition, Emma was named an AVCA All-American for three years and was awarded the American Volleyball Coaches' Outstanding National Player of the Year Award in 2010. She is a scholar athlete and holds the all-time CCC season (812) and career (2,654) kill records.

The Clearwater Christian College Athletic Hall of Fame was started in the early 1980s in order to honor special senior athletes who excelled on the court or field, in the classroom, and possessed an outstanding testimony for Christ both on and off campus. Emma became the 39th graduate inducted in the Hall of Fame over its 30 year history. Each inductee is commemorated with a photo plaque that remains at the College and a personal plaque given to them on the occasion. Acting Athletic Director Keith Champion made the presentation as the volleyball coach presented Emma with her plaque.

Regarding Emma, Coach Vickie Denny stated "Emma Kile epitomizes what the CCC Hall of Fame is all about. She is not only an incredible volleyball player, which is evidenced by her many awards and honors, but just as importantly she has demonstrated the qualities of a Christian student athlete. As a true competitor, Emma hates to lose and gives full effort while consistently holding to a very high personal standard of true sportsmanship and ethics. She has led our team by her example over these four years and she will be greatly missed. It has been an honor to coach her."

Acting Athletic Director Keith Champion added "Emma is one of the most well balanced young ladies I have ever had the privilege to have in an athletic program. Her ability on the court speaks for itself, but her testimony off the court and in the classroom makes her the outstanding individual that she is. Always possessing a smile, Emma consistently displayed a servant's heart in her approach to her daily life. I cannot think of a more deserving inductee into the Cougars' Hall of Fame than Emma Kile."

Emma is originally from Butler, PA, and graduated from Calvary Academy in 2008. She is an Elementary Education major and daughter of Jared and Eileen Kile.
