FOX 2 DETROIT'S "THE NINE" TO WEAR TURQUOISE IN SUPPORT OF THE AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION'S TURQUOISE TAKEOVER

DETROIT, MI (05/09/2016)(readMedia)-- On Tuesday, May 10th the anchors and cast of WJBK Fox 2 Detroit's popular morning show "The Nine" will wear turquoise in support of the American Lung Association's annual LUNG FORCE Turquoise Takeover week.

Turquoise Takeover is held annually across the U.S. to celebrate National Women's Lung Health Week as part of the American Lung Association's LUNG FORCE campaign. LUNG FORCE is a national initiative uniting women in the fight against lung cancer - the #1 cancer killer of women.

Throughout the U.S., shows of support will take place from famous landmarks across the country lighting up in turquoise to national and local celebrities and media personalities wearing turquoise - all to help raise lung cancer awareness.

Locally, the cast of FOX 2's "The Nine" will wear turquoise during their Tuesday, May 10th broadcast. Detroit landmarks; the GM Renaissance Center, One Detroit Center and the Compuware building will all be lit turquoise and downtown Birmingham's Lucy Activeware and Alex + Ani shops will host a shop to support night from 5-7pm to raise funds for the cause.

On Wednesday, May 11th a legislative breakfast will be held in the capital building in Lansing. State legislators will wear turquoise into the day's sessions in support of LUNG FORCE.
