Feminists Stage Women’s History Month Celebration

At SUNY Stony Brook

ALBANY, NY (03/12/2008)(readMedia)-- On Saturday, March 29, at 10 AM, Mid-Suffolk NOW (National Organization for Women) will celebrate Women’s History Month in the Women’s Studies Colloquium Room of the Old Chemistry Building at SUNY, Stony Brook. NOW's NE Regional Director, Marilyn Fitterman, who is also President of Long Island's East End NOW, will address the group; and feminist singer Sandy Rapp will play her new song “Walking Shoes,” created for NY State Senator Hillary Clinton’s campaign to be the first woman president of the United States.

The program will also include recitations of famous essays and speeches, from ancient times to the present, about appeals for education and for the inclusion of girls and women in the mainstream of society.
