ST. PAUL, MN (05/27/2011)(readMedia)-- Concordia University, St. Paul student Nikolai Gibbons of Fort Collins, Colo., gave the farewell address to his fellow graduates during the university's commencement ceremony May 13, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., in the Gangelhoff Center on the Concordia campus. Gibbons graduated from Concordia's Honors Program in litteris fideque with a major in Theology in the Pre-Seminary program.
Gibbons referred to a Calvin and Hobbs comic strip when encouraging his fellow graduates not to settle for "mud pies," but to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God. View his speech: http://youtu.be/1D7snfTl0R4
Born and raised in Fort Collins, Colo., Gibbons began his collegiate experience at Colorado State University in Fort Collins and will continue his studies for the pastoral ministry at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis this fall.
