ALBANY, NY (08/28/2008)(readMedia)-- The General Building Contractors of New York State (GBC) is pleased to announce the winning entries in its seventeenth annual Build New York Awards competition, which is held to honor New York construction projects.

The Pike Company, Inc. (Rochester) - Rehabilitation of Mann Library, Cornell University, Ithaca

Zogg, Executive Director of the GBC, said. "They are the key to success in today's thriving construction industry," he added.

The Build New York Award winners are selected based on outstanding managing skills, imagination, overcoming challenging and unusual circumstances, scheduling accomplishments and project innovation by the contractor/manager and the entire project team including the project owner, architect, subcontractors and suppliers. All project entries were reviewed and judged by an 11-member jury.

The winners will be honored at a gala awards presentation this fall.
