For the first time since the Build New York Awards program began, this year the jury instructed that one project should receive special recognition. That project is the reconstruction of Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital, performed by William H. Lane Incorporated and its team. The inspiring story of how this team got a severely damaged hospital reopened in only ten days exemplifies the best of the construction industry.
"Risk-taking constructors leading the way with excellent project management and good safety experience continue to provide owners with the quality projects they seek,” Jeffrey J. Zogg, Executive Director of the GBC, said. “They are the key to success in today's thriving construction industry," he added.
The Build New York Award winners are selected based on outstanding managing skills, imagination, overcoming challenging and unusual circumstances, scheduling accomplishments and project innovation by the contractor/manager and the entire project team including the project owner, architect, subcontractors and suppliers. All project entries were reviewed and judged by an 11-member jury.
The winners will be honored at a gala awards presentation this fall.
