ST. PAUL, MINN. (05/30/2012)(readMedia)-- The Giant Sing Along is back for the 2012 Minnesota State Fair. Last year, fair fans voted online to compile the best summer song list ever. By the time fair gates closed on Labor Day, nearly 50,000 fair guests had enjoyed the magic of singing together, karaoke-style. The experience is back and better for 2012. Visitors can sing a little longer, a little later with a more extensive playlist and extended hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The State Fair needs help from fans to suggest their favorite songs, making an even greater playlist. To share song ideas and cast a vote visit mnstatefair.org now through Thursday, June 14.

A participatory public art experience created by Daily Tous Les Jours, the Giant Sing Along is presented by Bremer Bank and located on Murphy Avenue, across from the Pet Center. It's free and open to all guests each day of the 2012 Minnesota State Fair.

Daily Tous Les Jours artists Mouna Andraos and Melissa Mongiat come from the fields of interaction design and narrative environments, and research new ways to tell stories. Regarding the fair's Giant Sing Along, Andros and Mongiat said, "Building on the contagious, positive energy of the fair, participants will connect with one another by sharing in a collective and moving musical experience. This uplifting activity is accessible to all and designed with the goal of inspiring guests to do something in unison." The two design large-scale projects that impact cities down to tiny ones that fit inside a pocket, bringing art to everyday life and inviting the public to become active contributors.
