Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York Lends Support to Girl Scouts of Connecticut

ALBANY, NY (12/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York learned on Monday, December 17, 2012 that eight of the twelve girls who died in the Newtown, Connecticut tragedy were Girl Scouts and that two Girl Scout families lost sons. The girls were Girl Scout Daisies (grades K-1) who wore their uniforms proudly. As the Newtown community begins its healing, Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY) would like to offer the public the opportunity to join the council in tangibly articulating thoughts and sympathies to the Girl Scouts of Connecticut. Working together, we can visibly convey the enormity of the power of the Girl Scout sisterhood of support. Girl Scouts of Connecticut are collecting "trefoil art" to distribute at a memorial service in the Newtown community in the middle of January. Share a message using this TREFOIL or design one of your own and deliver to one of our service centers in Albany, Plattsburgh or Queensbury or the Halfmoon office.
