Illinois Army National Guard unit mobilizes for Afghanistan

Nov. 9 ceremony in Springfield for Bilateral Embedded Staff Team (BEST) A20

SPRINGFIELD, IL (11/06/2017) (readMedia)-- The team will deploy to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The Soldiers will deploy side-by-side with their Polish military counterparts, continuing a partnership between Poland and the Illinois National Guard that dates back to 1993. In 2018, the Illinois National Guard and the Polish military will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their State Partnership Program.

A deployment ceremony is scheduled for a team of Soldiers who will deploy to Afghanistan.
