SPRINGFIELD, IL (07/20/2011)(readMedia)-- The Illinois National Guard will officially cut the ribbon on the $11.4 million Carbondale Reserve Center, which is a first-rate facility where Soldiers will hone their skills in preparation for local, state and federal missions. As the Illinois Army National Guard transforms with the U.S. Army to meet the challenges of the 21st century, this new facility provides a critical readiness platform for our Soldiers and allows them to successfully complete both our federal and state missions. It also adds to the homeland defense capability of the Illinois National Guard and the United States Army Reserve.
