DES MOINES, IA (11/08/2013)(readMedia)-- The Iowa State Education Association is sponsoring a new program for the Blank Children's Hospital Pediatric Therapy Department called the Birthday Book Project which provides a new book for pediatric therapy patients on their Birthday. The first installment of books was delivered Monday, November 4, to Laura Michel, a pediatric therapist in the Department.

"The ISEA is excited to partner with Blank Children's Hospital and to help foster a love of reading with our Birthday Book Project. If we can help put a smile on a young person's face with a Birthday gift, and plant a small seed that reading is fun, it's a win for everyone," said ISEA President Tammy Wawro.

The ISEA will be collecting new books for pre-K through grade 12 all year round with drop-off at any ISEA field office around the state or at the ISEA headquarters in Des Moines. For more information about the project, contact Jhessburg@isea.org.
