Jan. 19th Albany Academies Alumni Hockey Game To Feature Special Anniversary Celebration

Celebration for '83 State Championship Hockey Team to cap off schedule of events

ALBANY, NY (01/03/2008)(readMedia)-- (Albany) – The Albany Academies will hold a special Alumni Hockey Day on Saturday, January 19, 2008 that will feature a special 25th anniversary celebration of the 1983 Academy State Championship Hockey Team.

The day will begin with families arriving for an Alumni Hockey game between 10 and 11 a.m.; the game itself – open to any former Academy Hockey players – will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. at Robison Family Hockey Arena in The Albany Academies Field House.

An Alumni family lunch will then be held from 1 to 2 p.m. in The Buttery in The Albany Academy building (located on the basement level of the building) at 135 Academy Road in Albany.

The current Albany Academy Varsity Hockey Team will then face Pomfret at Robison Family Hockey Arena at 2 p.m. in a New England Prep School League game. Following the game at approximately 4 p.m., attendees are welcome to join the Cadets in the locker room.

A special post-game celebration to honor the 1983 State Championship Hockey Team – the first Academy team to win a state championship in any sport – will begin at 5:30 p.m.
