The Albany Academies Hires Girls Basketball Coach
Veteran college coach Dan McGraw to head AAG basketball program

ALBANY, NY (08/13/2008)(readMedia)-- The Albany Academies is pleased to announce the addition of veteran college coach Dan McGraw as the new Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach for Albany Academy for Girls.
McGraw has had an extensive career as a basketball coach at a variety of levels, most recently serving as a Division I Assistant Basketball Coach at Binghamton University. Prior to that, he served as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at SUNY Oneonta for eight seasons where he compiled a record of 147-75. While at Oneonta, his teams qualified for postseason play in six of his eight years.
During the 2005-2006 season, his team won the ECAC Championship as the # 1 seed; in the 2000-2001 season, his team won the SUNYAC Championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament with a record of 26-2. That year, McGraw was named the SUNYAC Conference Coach of the Year as well as the WBCA District II Regional Coach of the Year.
From 1996-98, he was the Head Basketball Coach at The College of Saint Joseph (VT) and compiled a record of 42-16; he was named Mayflower Conference Coach of the Year in both the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons. Prior to that, the 1988 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy was an assistant coach at CBA until 1993 and then an assistant coach for his brother, Packy, at Albany College of Pharmacy.

"We are looking for Dan to take this program to the next level in terms of success and recognition, and are certain that his leadership, experience and enthusiasm will make him a tremendous asset to our school."
