The Albany Academies To Host Homecoming 2008 On September 26 & 27
Festivities for this year's extravaganza to be held over two days at Academies
ALBANY, NY (09/08/2008)(readMedia)-- The Albany Academies will host its Homecoming 2008 on Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27 with a variety of athletic events and other activities being held on both the East (Albany Academy for Girls building) and West (The Albany Academy building) Campuses.
There will be a number of sporting events during both days, beginning with Friday's contests that include a Girls Varsity Tennis match vs. Academy of the Holy Names at 4 p.m., Girls Varsity Soccer game vs. Mechanicville at 4:15 p.m., Girls Varsity Swim meet vs. Ravena at 4:30 p.m. and Girls Varsity Volleyball game vs. Cohoes at 5 p.m. There will be a Boys Varsity Soccer game vs. Mechanicville at 10 a.m. and a Boys Varsity Football game vs. Ravena at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Homecoming 2008 will also feature a barbeque sponsored by The Albany Academies Parents Association at 5:30 p.m. and a bonfire at 8 p.m. on the athletic fields on the West Campus (135 Academy Road in Albany) on Friday. The following day will be an opportunity for tailgating with parents, alumni, alumnae and friends beginning at 11 a.m. in the West Campus Circle, with all classes invited.
The Alumnae Council and Alumni Association will be hosting a barbeque beginning at noon on Saturday featuring burgers and hot dogs under the tent on the West Campus. For the children, we will be partnering with Fun Services to provide carnival games from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. featuring Flip-A-Frog, Quarterback Toss, Five Pin Bowl, Driving Range and Bumper Cars.
