CLEARWATER, FL (11/19/2010)(readMedia)-- Clearwater Christian College senior defender Jeff Crews of Mechanicsburg, PA was named Student Athlete of the Week by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) in men's soccer for the week of November 8-14, 2010. He was also named the Outstanding Player for the NCCAA DII men's soccer National Championships held in Kissimmee, FL on November 10-13, 2010.
Jeff is a 2007 graduate of Emmanuel Baptist Christian Academy in Mechanicsburg and the son of Steve and Joy Crews of Mechanicsburg, PA.
In their official announcement, NCCAA cites the following: "Jeff Crews was the defensive leader for his team that only allowed 1 goal in 3 matches. He played a key role in leading the Cougars to 12 shutouts on the season while only allowing 1 goal in 10 matches against NCCAA DII competition and leading the nation with a .89 goal against average."
