Junior ROTC to Train at Fort McClellan

MONTGOMERY, AL (06/04/2010)(readMedia)-- Junior ROTC cadets from high schools around the state will attend one of two six-day JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge cycles at the Fort McClellan Army National Guard Training Site in Anniston, May 30 – June 5, 2010, or June 6 - 11, 2010.
A complete listing of the schools that will have cadets attending each cycle is included below. The encampment will include instruction by Alabama Army Guard members in subjects such as basic first aid, drill and ceremony, map reading, and other military subjects. The cadets also take part in math and science classes and learning labs. The cadets are divided into teams and have some very spirited athletic competitions against each other.
Representatives from your media outlet are cordially invited to visit and view the training of cadets from your coverage area. The best time to visit is the middle of each cycle (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday). Media should contact Maj. Ron Bradstreet to coordinate a visit. You can reach him at (205) 529-7464. Maj.
