Kelsey Carson of Stamford Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (06/17/2011)(readMedia)-- Kelsey Carson, a member of the Class of 2011 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.
She is the daughter of Nolan and Maureen Carson of Stamford.
Carson earned a B.A. degree cum laude at Skidmore's 100th commencement in May. In addition, she was one of six students who received the Katherine Scranton Rozendaal Citizenship Award, named in honor of a former trustee and presented annually to selected seniors who have shown outstanding citizenship in the Skidmore community and who have lived and learned respectably by the Skidmore Honor Code.
She earned highest honors for academic work completed this spring.
She also was elected to membership in two honor societies: to the Alpha Delta Tau Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the international honor society in history; and to Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology.
Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
