LET NY VOTE COALITION TO HOST PRESS CONFERENCE AT THE STATE CAPITOL TO CALL FOR PRO-VOTER REFORMS

Young people, advocates, and pro-democracy legislators will gather at the Capitol to demand action on voting rights and expanded access to the ballot in New York.

ALBANY, NY (04/28/2025) (readMedia)-- On Tuesday, April 29th, the Let NY Vote Coalition will bring together students, grassroots organizers, and community leaders from across the state for a press conference and full-day Advocacy Day at the New York State Capitol. This mobilization will spotlight legislation aimed at protecting and expanding access to the ballot in New York, and will be focused on the LNYV Coalition's 2025 legislative priorities.

At a time when we are witnessing extreme attacks on our democracy and the right to vote at the federal level, and voter suppression bills are advancing in state legislatures across the country, New York has a critical role to play in leading the way. Our state can be a national model for electoral justice-ensuring that every eligible New Yorker, especially young people and historically disenfranchised communities, can fully participate in our democracy.

The day will include legislative meetings and a press conference at 11:00 AM EST featuring student speakers, voting rights advocates, and bill sponsors from the NYS Assembly and Senate.
