Labor to Host 8th Annual Ground Zero Charity Motorcycle Ride

Saturday, September 9th - 9:30 am (Vesey Street & Church Street)

NEW YORK (09/14/2009)(readMedia)-- WHO: The New York State AFL-CIO, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 15, and dozens of Building Trades Unions will be co-sponsoring the 8th Annual Ground Zero Motorcycle Ride. Hundreds of Building Trades members, families and friends will ride their motorcycles, led by a police escort, from Ground Zero to Kutcher's Grove in Pomona, New York.

WHAT: This 8th Annual Event raises money for the children and spouses of heroic first responders who lost their lives in the aftermath of the September 11th Attacks. Proceeds of the motorcycle ride fundraiser go to Tuesday's Children, a charitable organization that aids the aforementioned families.

WHERE: The Ride lines up at Vesey Street and Church Street at 9:30 am. The Ride kicks off at 9:45 am led by a police escort, and proceeds to Kutcher's Grove in Pomona, New York.

The Day includes family events and entertainment. Featured musicians include:

• Legendary Guitarist Dan Lawson

• Brothers of the Road Band

• San Francisco's youngest member of the Blues Hall
