SAVANNAH, GA (06/28/2012)(readMedia)-- 19-year-old Luke Dressler, 2011 graduate of Laguna Beach High School and current performing arts student at the Savannah College of Art and Design, has been cast in the new film, "CBGB," currently filming in Savannah, GA.
"CBGB" chronicles the famous Bowery music venue from its origins as Country, Bluegrass and Blues (CBGB) to what it ultimately became: the birthplace of underground rock 'n roll and punk and home to performers like Patti Smith, Blondie, The Ramones, The Talking Heads and Television.
Luke plays guitarist Richard Lloyd, a founding member of the ground-breaking band Television, one of the first bands to play in CBGB.
Luke joins a cast that includes Alan Rickman ("Harry Potter," "Sweeney Todd"), Rupert Grint ("Harry Potter"), Joel David Moore ("Avatar"), Ashley Greene ("Twilight") and Johnny Galecki ("The Big Bang Theory").
Luke was a member of the Laguna Beach High School Park Avenue Players, where he starred in everything from Shakespeare to musical comedy to dramas. His talent earned him a Park Avenue Players Award for Best Character Actor.
"CBGB" is scheduled for release in 2013.
