GAFFNEY, SC (03/30/2011)(readMedia)-- Limestone College has recognized Patricia Williams Willis of Lancaster as its Philanthropist of the Year. The acknowledgment was made during a luncheon on March 18.

A member of Limestone's Class of 1955 with a bachelor's degree in English, Willis has selflessly provided her support and talents to her alma mater. She has

She is also a strong supporter of the College's "Today's Needs...Tomorrow's Dreams" capital campaign. In 2010, her husband, Dr. John Willis, established the Patricia Williams Willis Scholarship Fund.

"Pat Willis has set a wonderful example of leadership and philanthropy for all Limestone alumni and friends," said Dr. Walt Griffin, President of Limestone College.

Willis makes her home in Lancaster, SC where she is a retired real estate developer and former member of the Lancaster City Council. She was also Director of the Lancaster Downtown Committee. She and her husband have three children, Steve, Cathy, and Alice.
