ALBANY, NY (03/27/2009)(readMedia)-- The 2008-2009 Sculpture in the Streets exhibit, sponsored by the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District and Kivort Steel of Waterford, is coming to a close as the sculptures from the current exhibit are removed to make way for a new exhibit in June. De-installation will begin the week of April 6, 2009. "This is your last opportunity to visit the 2nd annual Sculpture in the Streets exhibition featuring 17 fabulous works from regional artists placed throughout the Downtown Albany BID," stated Pamela Tobin, Executive Director of the Downtown Albany BID. Walking tour maps are available at the BID office at 522 Broadway in Albany Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm, the four downtown Albany hotels (74 State, Crowne Plaza, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express), or by downloading it from the BID website at www.downtownalbany.com - go to 'Great Events' and look for Sculpture in the Streets.
Looking for an addition to your art collection? Most of the sculptures are for sale - contact the BID office for purchase information at 518.465.2143x11 or via email at info@downtownalbany.org. From each sale, 15% goes toward sustaining the Downtown Albany BID's Sculpture in the Streets program.
